The 26th Annual Taos Spring Arts Celebration, May 01 - 31, 2009, will provide entertainment for the whole family--art, music, performance--and is perfect for sightseeing.

The Taos Spring Arts Celebration, held throughout Taos in May, is a showcase for the visual, performing, and literary arts of the community and allows you to rub elbows with the many artists, writers and other creative people who call Taos home. The Arts and Crafts weekend in Kit Carson Park during the festival always draws an especially large crowd.

26th Annual Taos Spring Arts Celebration Calendar (2009)

  • May 1-31: 26th Annual Taos Spring Arts Celebration: museum exhibitions, gallery openings, musical events, stage performances and fine dining.
  • May 3: Santa Cruz Feast Day: Blessing of the fields and corn dance at Taos Indian Pueblo (no cameras or cell phones).
  • May 8: Mother's Day Project at the Taos Youth & Family Center 3 to 5:30 p.m.
  • May 8-10: Spring Arts & Crafts Fair at Kit Carson Park in Taos. Artists and craftspeople from around the region sell their wares alongside music, food and entertainment.
  • May 9: Feeder watchers welcome to join in the International Migratory Bird Count in Angel Fire. Must pre-register at 575-377 6128.
  • May 15: End of the School Year Teen Dance at the Taos Youth & Family Center from 7 to 9 p.m.
  • May 15-16: Run for the Wall motorcyclists roll through Angel Fire’s Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial State Park.
  • May 16: Folk Life Festival with traditional arts and crafts demonstrations by American Indian and Hispanic artists will be held at the Millicent Rogers Museum.
  • May 22-25: 26th Annual Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally/Run features thousands of motorcycles, live music, food and beautiful scenery, along with a 25-mile parade to the Vietnam Memorial in Red River.
  • May 24-25: Memorial weekend ceremonies, including Flag March, service and speakers at Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Angel Fire.
  • May 24-25: Veterans memorial event honoring New Mexico’s military in Questa with outdoor presentations. Veterans ceremony May 25 at 1 p.m.
